African Eyes is a jewellery, accessories & home design project founded by Edwin Konde, rope jeweller and craft designer original from Zimbabwe and Laura Efron, historian and silver jeweller original from Argentina.
Business, design and family partners, Edwin and Laura travel regularely from South Africa to Argentina, mixing local inspirations and experiences.
They design and create every piece with their own hands.
African Eyes is an interactive rope project. People are able to appropriate and shape items however they want to. Change the shape, wear it in many different ways and then just wash it.
Their rope jewellery has been exhibited in NYNow and IFAM, USA and many international markets. At the same time, African Eyes rope jewellery products can be found at Fotografiska Museum, NY, Tropen Museum, Amsterdam and many boutiques around the world.
